WIP Wednesday - A Variety of Projects

I think I am going to like my new multi-tasking approach to projects.  Here's a few things I have going on:

1.  Color Chart
In preparation for Rachel's Color Intensive class, I have started to make her manipulative Kona Color Card.  I think this is going to come in quite handy.
2.  Dusting off the Cross Stitching
Have you seen the Quilty Stitches Sampler Along at Little Miss Shabby?  For me this is the perfect combination of activities...cross stitching a quilting project!  All the supplies are assembled and I am ready to start stitching (did you notice the always attractive light goggles?).  In my enthusiasm to get back into cross stitching I also purchased this book of modern floral designs.

3.  Ready to Start Tula's Blocks
Wouldn't you say I have plenty of fabric to get started making blocks?  But then again I may have to wait until that bag of Tula scraps arrives...

4.  Experimenting with Machine Applique
There are elephants dancing across my current quilt top project!  I'll have more on this project soon.

The very helpful Nicole at Mama Loves Quilts pointed me in the direction of this book for machine applique instruction.

And finally, not really a project but a big step for me in my quilting adventures, is that I officially joined a quilt guild!  I am looking forward to attending the next meeting of the Boston Modern Quilt Guild and getting to know in person the talented people I have been admiring through their blogs!

Hope you are having a wonderful week!  Linking up with Lee's WIP Wednesday party and Lorna's Let's Bee Social!

  1. You are so organized! I am so impressed, I do so love me some good organization. I am taking Rachel's class too, YAY US! How much fun is that going to be?!!! I am positive we are going to become colour junkies!!!

  2. You have a great stash of Tula Pink fabrics to start your 100 Modern Blocks quilt. I really enjoyed making the blocks, hope you enjoy the process!

  3. You've got lots going on! That elephant is pretty fantastic looking!

  4. Well Kathy, you have your projects all lined up. I think that these beauties will keep you busy for a while.

  5. These all look like fun. I can't wait to see what you are doing with the elephants.

  6. Lots of colourful projects on the go. I'll be interested to see how useful you find the velcro changes to the colour chart.

  7. Hey I have a beam and read little light too and my husband always teased me when I use it...LOL!! Love the Modern flower book. I'm totally interested in that color class...I'm on my way to check it out. Thanks for sharing the link! Hope your day is great

  8. That is a very cute little elephant. Can't wait to see the finished quilt!

  9. I think I need some of those "attractive" goggles! Love your cavorting elephant. Dropped by from "Let's Bee Social". Now I'm off to snoop around some of your earlier posts!

  10. Oh, I sure do like your multi tasking line up! That is one sweet fabric pull in preparation for those Tula's Blocks. I love that sweet elephant you have dancing across your quilt top. I love doing machine applique and have that very same book. It is great, so thorough and detailed! Congrats on joining the Boston Modern Quilt Guild. I am sew jealous of your sidebar button! Hope you have a lot fun at the meetings and make a ton of new friends!

  11. Awww, that elephant is too cute! Looking forward to see more of that.

  12. You have so much awesome stuff going on. The dancing elephants are so adorable! Congrats on joining a guild!
