Things to Practice

One of the things I love the most about quilting, is that there is always something new for me to learn.  For example, here is a little FMQ playing:
Far from perfect, but fun!!

There are so many beautiful projects out there using hexagons, I thought I would give them a try.
So far, I totally get how calming and therapeutic making the hexies are, but hand sewing them together is kind of a pain.  Practice, practice...

And finally, one of the little girls we tutor gave me this:
Perfect!!

Hope you are having a good week, learning new things every day!

  1. You spider man practice looks fun and good! I too find putting the hexies together not so much fun. They are cute and I want to finish something with them.

  2. I love this post! I have only once tried my hand at FMQ and doubt that I will ever be brave enough to start a hexagon project. But yes - there are no limits to learning and to potential creativity in this wonderful world of quilting!
