This is Why We Quilt

Sometimes we don't know how much our little hobby/obsession can mean to others.  This is my buddy M.  Here he is with his lovely mom waiting to have surgery this morning.  Can you see what he brought with him to the hospital from home?  Remember these quilts?
M told all the nurses that it did not come from a store  "my Ms.Kathy made it."  Isn't that the best?!

This made my day.  I hope it makes yours.
Kathy

PS  Everything went well with his procedure.  M is home recovering...with his quilt.

  4. There is endorsement like that of a child. They only say it how it is. Glad M is on the mend.

  5. How lovely! I do it too. Take a look at http://lillyboquilts.blogspot.com
I started in England after my own little grandee went through chemotherapy as she had received one from another group in Germany where she lives. It is so worth while and, like you it gives me so much joy and has drawn me into quilting big time too.

  6. Kids always tell the truth (no matter what) -- so you know that M loves his quilt. Perhaps he needs a SpiderMan pillowcase to match... Glad to hear his surgery went well and he is home snuggling with his quilt.
I just made a fleece/minkee blanket for a big guy going through Chemo... he is enjoying his blankie too!

  9. Kathy- this must have touched your heart! That is exactly why we make the things we do and give them away. No amount of money would have made that sentiment any stronger. Congratulations to you and your obvious mini-fan! ;-)
