Finished - Woodland Creatures Baby Shower Quilt

A couple of years ago I purchased the Thicket creature panel by Gingiber on impulse from Alewives Fabric (who does such things?).  Last weekend I gifted this little quilt to my son and daughter-in-law as part of the celebration of their upcoming first baby!
Outside pictures for these woodland creatures seemed appropriate.
The border around the critters is Peter Pan by Sarah Jane for Michael Miller fabrics.

I love, love what Stacie of Gingiber does with animals. Her work is so interesting and charming.

For the backing I found this adorable soft fleece at Joann's.

Free motion quilting this was a joy.  Keeping with my theme of not overthinking the quilting, swirls around the creatures and meandering in the borders seemed right.

Now will there be a little baby boy or girl snuggling up to this quilt?  Stay tuned!!
