I also finished the second Charlie Brown tree skirt:
The pattern is a modification of this one by Nite Owl Quilting. I used the Peanuts Gang Stripe to make the outer border. This changed the dimensions a little, making the tree skirt a little bigger overall. Simple but effective. And it makes my husband happy.
Another finished project from my First Year quilting is the Log Cabin I have posing with my kayak in my banner picture. I chose this quilt for this honor as it was the first one I did without a pattern (how badly could I mess up a log cabin?).
Kasey loves my quilts too!
PS Does Thanksgiving seem early to anyone else but me? I am thankful I have a family that insists on the SAME menu each holiday...makes the prep so much easier!
I am linking up with Crazy Mom Quilts Finish It Up Friday! Have a great weekend!

Thanks! I brought pictures of my living room to the fabric store to help with the selection. I was a bit nervous about the contrasting colors...but seems to work!
DeleteGreat log cabin quilt.
ReplyDeleteThanks! So much fun, with all the options for a log cabin square!
DeleteOkay, LOVE the tree skirt. What a great idea, using the "gang" fabric on the outside border. I'm thinking of getting that bundle to make some projects.
ReplyDeleteAnd I adore your log cabin quilt. I've got a log cabin on my bucket list. Someday. When I make all the other gazillion quilts on that list!
I'm with you on the Thanksgiving menu. Love that it's the same every year. So much easier!
Quilts look amazing as always and Kasey is looking quite regal in the pictures!
ReplyDeleteThanks Aimee! Kasey wants to be in all the finished quilt pictures!

ReplyDeleteI love this! The fabrics you chose are fantastic! I spotted one Sweetwater print in there - I have that one in one of my projects as well!
ReplyDeleteI stumbled on this during the giveaway week and it is amazing! Love the fabric choices and that Sweetwater caught my eye immediately!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy, I am a year later to comment on this quilt but I am just visiting now (after you left a comment on my blog). I love this quilt - good choice for the blog header. Simple, but effective. Like the numbers print, quilting, the traditional red centre, everything!
ReplyDeleteWhat a really stunning log cabin, it looks great in the monocrome colours... I may have to pinch your idea.. if that's ok.
ReplyDeleteI found you through the Sew Mama Sew giveaway and I shall be back.
