The Beginning of A Christmas Sampler Quilt

I should be cooking, cleaning, decorating or shopping for Christmas presents.   But I am distracted by the lovely pile of Dear Mr. Claus fabric that I have been holding onto for a couple of years.  The final tipping point came when I saw some blocks being constructed on IG by Lisa of Vintage Modern Quilts using this collection.  The light went on!  I pulled together all my Dear Mr. Claus fabric and other Christmas (or even sort of) fabric and started looking for holiday themed block tutorials and patterns.

It turns out I had the Vintage Holiday pattern by Thimbleblossoms.  I am sure there will be more of these ornaments.
I also found in my book of patterns the Moda Dear Mr. Claus gift box pattern.
I happened across this paper piecing Last Minute Sampler Quilt Along hosted by Sewing Under the Rainbow.  That's where the pattern for these trees came from.

There is another paper pieced wall hanging with daily free patterns about to launch on Monday at Quilt Art Designs.  I'm sure I will be using some of these, particularly the 6 inch blocks.  Then I found this quilt along that Sara of Sew Sweetness hosted before I began quilting.

Earlier this year, the lovely Lorna at Sew Fresh Quilts shared a Christmas present block tutorial.  Love it!

And it seems like there are more Christmas blocks shared daily by the very generous quilting community.  My plan is to make enough blocks for all of this to come together as a sampler before next Christmas.  What do you think?  Sounds like a reasonable goal.  We'll see!

I had to take pictures of the blocks on the snow from Thanksgiving!

Linking up with the Lorna and Lee's weekly parties!

PS  With apologies to those who have left comments on recent posts.  I have moved over to the World of Macs and I am unable to send messages.  Just a little problem.  Yikes!  I am about to go visit the geniuses in the store for help!  I promise you will hear from me soon!
