My husband and I spent an afternoon working on the layout of this hodge-podge pile of scarves; I think it came together just fine! Next step is to quilt it...which brings me to a BIG announcement!
Since the beginning of my quilt making adventure last year, I have loved the quilting stage. This is some of the quilting I have done on my domestic machine.
Flowers on my first finished quilt.
Leaves on pillows.
Snoopy's Flight Path
But it was the FMQ'ing on this queen size quilt that just about did me in.
And I have a growing queue of quilt tops waiting for quilting affection:
It is time to get serious....say hello to my latest quilting tool.
I am in love. It is still early in our relationship but the day after we set her up I was working on a quilt (see the final pictures of this wedding gift here). I have connected with a very active group of folks in Yahoo who have a lot of good suggestions for optimizing the use of these sit down quilting machines. I have a lot to learn for sure but I am so excited about playing with this machine!

Congrats on the SS16. I got the Tiara and found the yahoo group too. Lots of good input and hints found there. Youtube videos are a great resource too. That stack will soon be quilted!
ReplyDeleteCute quilt with those spa scarves. Can't wait to see how you quilt it on that great new machine you just purchased!

ReplyDeleteOoooohhh. That new machine. I'm so jealous! I've been pining for an HQ16 for a while now. Maybe one day. . . I'm sure you will love it, and I can see all those quilts getting quilted up soon.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new machine! I told my husband I want a quilting machine someday, and he told me that I can have one to put in our beach house. (Hint: we are DECADES away from a beach house.) Ha! Good choice for a layout on your HSTs. You will be able to put your new machine to good use soon!
ReplyDeleteWoah! Exciting!!!
ReplyDeleteThe Spa quilt is beautiful. I can't wait to see the finish on your new quilting machine! Pining for one of those! Enjoy!!!
