The New Sewing Room Reveal

After months of planning and weeks of moving, I finally have my sewing room ready for use and I can't wait to put it to work.  One of the "must haves" for the renovated house on the lake was a dedicated sewing room.  A sliding pocket door seals off "the most important room in the house," as the builder would say.
The walls are a lovely, happy mint green color.  How wonderful to have room for both the sewing machine and the quilting machine.
Cork flooring should be good for the legs.
The room has four windows for natural light.  The TV on the wall is a bonus.

Although focusing on my sewing may be a little difficult with the view to the lake.
A design wall will be added to this blank space in the near future.

All the bookcases, fat quarter racks (CD storage) and the sewing machine table came from the previous house and are from Ikea.  In addition to a design wall, I also need to build a cutting table and  work on a better solution for thread storage.

We've had a wonderful few weeks of summer in our new home.  September will be here soon and I have a long list of sewing projects to embark on.  Looking forward to sharing some sewing pictures with you soon!

  13. Fantastic space! Love all the windows and your wall color is super tranquil and looks lovely with all the white.
Question about your sewing table, did you make it or did it come that way? I like how the sewing machine drops in so you have a smooth surface. just wondering because I have one that looks similar, but my sewing machine is on top. Thanks for the inspiration and looking forward to seeing your first creation in your new room!
