14 more blocks!
25 blocks completed, 75 more to go.
At the 25% completion mark, these are my observations about Tula's City Sampler blocks:
- I find the challenge of making each block strangely addictive. I cannot make just one at a time.
- Precise cutting and piecing are extremely important, particularly for those 6.5" blocks with 20 plus pieces in them!
- Fabric selection and cutting have been taking longer than actually sewing each block (except of course when I have to re-sew the block!).
- I think there is a good chance I will still have a respectable pile of Tula Pink fabric remaining after the next 75 blocks are completed. First class problem, I know.
- I continue to be impressed with how beautifully her fabrics from across collections work well together.
- And I am getting distracted with how others are quilting and finishing these quilts!
Fortunately, we love a little outside play in the snow. Here is Nola (who we are dog-sitting for this week) checking out the bob houses on the lake. She was having too much fun to actually catch any fish!
See the snow blowing across her face? She loved it!
I hope your week is going well! Linking up with Lee's WIP Wednesday and Lorna's Let's Bee Social parties.

Snow days are great sewing days! I live in the DC area and got a lot of sewing done this past weekend (which turned into a five day weekend with snow days).

ReplyDeleteLove the bright colors from Tula Pink's collection and how well they are coming together. Great work! Best, Kate
ReplyDeleteWe haven't had any snowy sewy days in Denver yet this winter :-( I love your Tula blocks- and your observations. I just finished block #10, and I'm starting a linkup party for Tula Blocks in March- hoping you'll come check it out!

ReplyDeleteWow! Nice progress. Those raccoons and the spiky circles on white have been catching my eye lately, though I've been being good so far. I love how that little raccoon is peaking out of that block on the right.
ReplyDeleteYour blocks look great together! I would have a really hard time coming up with fabric combinations, and I would be totally stressed the whole time thinking my quilt would look awful!
ReplyDeleteOoh, these look amazing! Love! And I'm with you! I thought I'd really knock some of my Tula stash out with these blocks. I've finished 60 blocks, and I still have a formidable tower of Tula. (So not complaining.)
ReplyDeleteYou are enjoying these blocks the same way I did!! ...they are super fun! Yours appear to be more perfect :-)
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful inside and outside as well! Just as long as you stay warm :-)
ReplyDeleteYou might have inspired a new project :)
